Romantic, Relaxed, Refined
Perched high on the clifftops overlooking Mawgan Porth Beach, The Scarlet Hotel is one of the South West’s ultimate luxury hotspots.
If it's relaxation and luxury you seek, look no further. Each of The Scarlet Hotel’s rooms boasts its own individual outside space; ranging from private courtyard garden terraces to balconies opening onto sweeping vistas. Arranged over five levels, each room offers a different view over gardens, cliffs, beach, sea and sky. Elsewhere in the hotel, you'll be spoilt for choice with clifftop hot tubs, an onsite spa, a relaxing Cloister Garden, and plenty of plush lounges to unwind in. As an adults-only hotel, your privacy and enjoyment are the highest priority and you'll always find a quiet corner of the hotel to call your own. Why not head to The Retreat Terrace for a spot of sunbathing during the summer months? You can sip on a cocktail as you watch the surfers on the beach below. Alternatively, you can curl up with a good book in the cosy Retreat Lounge or visit the Library to shoot some pool.
The Spa
At the Scarlet Spa the focus is placed on 'holistic wellbeing'. It draws on the wisdom of 'Ayurveda', widely believed to be the oldest of the healing sciences. Whether you find yourself slathered in rich mineral mud in their rhassoul or you take part in a traditional bathing ritual in the hammam, you're guaranteed to leave feeling rejuvenated from your visit.
Dining at The Scarlet Hotel
The Scarlet kitchen team work with organic and sustainable producers from throughout Cornwall. The resulting menu changes in harmony with the seasons and only the best produce ends up on plates. Dishes are deceptively simple. Rather than smothering fresh ingredients, produce is allowed to breathe and dishes showcase quality over complexity. Meanwhile, the restaurant itself gazes out over Mawgan Porth Beach to the Atlantic ocean beyond, meaning you can sit back and watch the waves or sunset during your meal.
An Environmental Focus
The Scarlet Hotel aims to minimise its environmental impact with a biomass boiler, grey water recycling, rain water harvesting and sea thrift-planted roofs. Each detail is meticulously thought through, from the Cloister Garden at the heart of the hotel that ensures all of the rooms have natural light from all sides, to the homemade doggie treats for four-legged guests!
