Indie feasting house, restaurant and bar Rusty Pig in Ottery St Mary is a cool, laidback venue for diners looking for ethical, seasonal food created with flair.
Since owner Robin Rea opened the restaurant in 2011, the overarching ethos has been to support small, local producers and farmers, using only the best ingredients and reducing food waste.
Downstairs, diners will find a sociable space where the Rusty Pig's feasts take place. Taking place from 7pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, feasts include a six-course tasting menu where diners don't know what they're being served until the end of the meal when Robin joins the room to discuss his creations.
Upstairs, visitors can opt for individual tables for dinner bookings.
Set breakfast and lunch menus are served, with evening diners taking pot-luck as meals are designed on the day using the freshest available ingredients. Sharing Robin’s passion is a vibrant and friendly team of chefs, bakers, charcuterie makers and cocktail shakers. Pop in for a coffee, a drink, or a full-blown meal – everyone is welcome.
