The Pig turns the traditional layout of a country hotel on its head. For starters, the interiors are to die for. There are plenty of original features, wood-panelled walls and sumptuous velvets. Walking through the building's historic entrance takes you straight into the expansive bar space at the hub of the hotel. Here you can take a seat by the fireplace and sip on botanical cocktails inspired by their own herb gardens.
Each of the bedrooms are furnished in The Pig's signature vintage-chic style. They range in size from 'cheap and cheerful' to the characterful Old Thatch Cottage, which can be booked in its entirety. A larder of treats and locally-sourced snacks are also available in each room.
Outside you can wander through the kitchen gardens, spy horses grazing on the grounds, or head to the magical Folly for a delicious flatbread.

Thanks to its location, just eight miles from the coast, The Pig's menu consists of fresh fish as well as the very best Devonshire cheese and locally reared meat. The main restaurant mirrors the rest of the hotel with its quirky and homely design. There's a commitment to home-grown and local produce and dishes on offer include everything from ‘Home Grown' Cured Meats to Boltardy Beetroot Risotto.
The Potting Shed
When seeking relaxation, head to the cosy Potting Shed treatment rooms. This beautifully restored building is an original part of the house and is the perfect spot for some down time. There are a range of natural treatments available using luxurious Bamford products.
