Nestled within 26 acres of beautiful Dorset countryside is Sculpture by the Lakes, an oasis for art lovers and collectors alike. The venue is the brainchild of renowned sculptor Simon Gudgeon and his wife, Monique. Together they sought to blend nature’s beauty with inspiring works of art, free from the restrictions of a traditional gallery and presented in harmony with their surroundings.

The sculpture park is home to over 30 of Gudgeon's largescale sculptures, as well as work by 30 other international sculptors. Alongside permanent works, Sculpture by the Lakes hosts several exhibitions throughout the year, as well as showcasing work by local and international artists in their state-of-the-art gallery space. Discover everything from limited edition prints to original paintings, small-scale sculptures and monumental works of art, all set against the backdrop of pristine landscaped grounds, botanical gardens and a beautiful lake.

Award-winning Cafe by the Lakes is a relaxed spot where guests to Sculpture by the Lakes can enjoy freshly prepared seasonal food, sourced directly from the venue’s very own kitchen garden. Dishes give a whole new meaning to the term ‘field to plate’, as much of the veg that graces the menu is grown just a short walk away. There’s always a great selection of homemade cake on offer, as well as a wide array of hot drinks, wine, local beers and cider.

Maverick tip: It’s worth noting that there’s a no dogs and no children under 14 (including babies) policy.
