Scarlet Wines is an eclectic, high-end emporium of great wines and spirits, conveniently located just off the A30 near St Ives. If you’re just passing, be sure to fill your boot with interesting wine finds and take advantage of discounts on cases and seasonal special offers.
Organic and natural wines, Cornish producers and vegan-friendly wines are all specialities. Owner Jon Keast has created a unique portfolio – a decade in the making – which speaks of a love for maverick wine-makers, off-beat regions and reinvented classics. Expect wines from Europe’s kaleidoscope of terroirs and some irresistible finds from the New World.
The team have also curated a huge selection of spirits from around the world, including over 40 gins and a bountiful assortment of rum and whisky. Local beers and craft ciders are also available, perfect for after-work stop-offs and summer jaunts to the beach.
Scarlet Wines shares its home with The Old Forge – a buzzing bistro and deli where you can also enjoy a selection of wines by the glass or pay corkage when choosing a bottle from the shop. Pull up a seat in the flower-filled sunny courtyard or the cosy interior. In the winter the best spots are next to the roaring wood burner for wholesome brunches and hearty Sunday Lunches.
