Rose Cottage allows you to experience a traditional seaside Cornish cottage with all the mod cons you ask for, and as a bonus it’s hidden away on a quiet street yet right at the heart of the bustling St Ives town centre and it has a parking space for guests on Beach Road, just a few minutes’ walk away. The main entrance from Rose Lane takes you to a warm and welcoming living room painted in soft pinks and blues with gorgeous hard wood floors. The large sofa and Smart TV with a Blu Ray player make this a great space for quiet movie nights.
Just outside the second entrance from an alley just off Fore Street is a shower with hot water for blasting off sand before going inside and a washing line for hanging wet swimming costumes, making this the ideal way to come into the cottage after a day at the nearby Porthmeor or Porthgwidden beaches. Beyond is a kitchen that sparks envy in avid cooks, with its cool tones, wooden worktop, subway tiles and modern appliances – including an oven and hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washer-dryer and even a coffee machine – as well as a table that can seat up to six people.
On the second floor you’ll find the master bedroom with original floors, a king-size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and its own TV and Blu Ray player. There’s also a large bathroom with a slipper bath – be sure to check out the feet on this, as they match the seaside décor of the rest of the bathroom – and a good-sized walk-in shower. Up the stairs to the third floor is a second bedroom with two single beds. Its amazing rooftop views and a TV with a Blu Ray player mean children staying at Rose Cottage have their own little hideaway.
