Fresh fish, Estuary views, Great breakfasts
Rick Stein’s passion for both the pretty port of Padstow and its seafood are well known and The Seafood Restaurant is the place where these passions meet. The beating heart of the restaurant is, of course, its focus on freshly caught fish and shellfish, with an emphasis on using simple recipes. Its fare is high quality and delicious, a real testament to Stein’s principle of championing fresh produce.
Although you may need to book ahead, you don’t need a reservation to sit at the Seafood bar and can order any dish from the menu. Roll up and feast on grilled scallops, Cornish crab, or langoustines on ice, expertly paired with a cool glass of white.
The flagship restaurant also houses 16 spacious guest rooms that place you in the centre of Padstow. Designed to reflect the coast, master rooms benefit from long, reaching views that look out over the estuary from private terraces. In the morning, smoked haddock kedgeree, poached kippers, or classic English breakfasts are served in the restaurant. Continental breakfasts, however, can be taken straight to your room.
If it’s your thing, oysters are great starters and The Seafood Restaurant serve them in a variety of ways.
