With just eight covers, one sitting per night and an exceptional tasting menu sourced largely from the local ‘UNESCO Biosphere Reserve’, we think Restaurant Noel Corston epitomises what it means to be ‘maverick’. A single tasting menu is available and all diners are served at once, with each course explained to you prior to eating, but this is no narrated or choreographed performance. A prominent chalkboard menu reads like a list of ingredients, offering you the chance to sample dishes that truly elevate seasonal ingredients. Expect everything from delectable crispy chicken skin topped with edible flowers, to delicate scallop meat encased in their shells. Seats are only available when booked in advance and Noel only opens his restaurant from Thursday to Saturday. But don’t let this put you off: this is one unique food experience that you’ll want to get penned into your diary as soon as possible.
