Highlights
French-Style Cooking, Friendly Service
La Petite Bouchée is an intimate brasserie restaurant that brings the flavours of France to the beautiful heartland of North Devon. Originally starting life in 2014 in Sydenham Wells Park, South East London, La Petite Bouchée relocated to the North Devon village of Witheridnge in 2017 and has garnered quite the local reputation for its quality food and warm customer service.
'La Petite Bouchée' translates to 'the small mouthful’, but rest assured there's nothing small about the hospitality at this restaurant. Menus are big on flavour and plates feel more akin to US portions than the humble French bistro. But it's the quality of ingredients and produce that really steal the show at La Petite Bouchée. Chef Anita-Clare prepares everything on the menu from scratch and takes great care to source produce as locally as possible. 93% of their ingredients are sourced within a 25-mile radius of the restaurant, from suppliers such as Shapland & Searle Butchers and The Cheese Larder in South Molton.
Expect to enjoy tasty, wholesome dishes like steak frites (cooked to your liking), lemon sole meunière, or an individual melt-in-the-mouth beef wellington. Everything can all be washed down with a menu of cocktails, wine, craft beer and cider. There's also Champagne on the drinks list for those special occasions.
La Petite Bouchée opens its doors on Fridays and Saturdays only, so book ahead to avoid disappointment. Each month you'll find the menu online, so you're free to peruse what's on offer and book the dates you prefer. Choose between three or four courses (with some supplement charges in addition to the menu price). Bon appétit!
