Adventurous, Calming, Retreat

Initially an abandoned 45-acre quarry, Kudhva is a campsite with an ethos. Encouraging a more off-grid lifestyle, the North Cornwall campsite promotes a reconnection with nature, offering sessions in surfing, wild swimming, foraging and outdoor yoga. The ‘Khudvas’ (Cornish for hideaway) sleep two people and are raised up on four legs, putting you at eye-level with the tops of the trees bristling around you. They are stylish yet purposefully minimalistic, gently nudging you to explore the surrounding dramatic scenery. And there is a lot to explore – woods, caves, heathland, waterfalls, the reservoir, the beach and the bar.

A Danish-style wooden cabin is also nestled in the campsite, along with Tree Tents, shelters that are suspended above the ground, immersed completely in nature. Khudva is a haven that overlooks the sea. Unique for its sustainably run, adventure-driven spirit, it is an ode to slowing down and reconnecting with the wilderness.

Every first Sunday of the month Kudhva hosts a day-party, ‘The Sunday Service’, from lunchtime to sundown. Vinyls from local DJs soundtrack the scenic willow groves whilst punters, a mix of locals and those from all over, are treated to Cornish food and cocktails.
