4 The Square, Beaminster, Dorset DT8 3AS
Beautiful Interiors, Award-Winning Food, Shop
Cass Titcombe and Louise Chidgey founded Brassica Restaurant & Mercantile in September 2014, having moved to Dorset from London just a few months before. The couple found that London restaurants were fast becoming extremely 'concept' lead and were inspired to open an eatery that would become known for simply being a 'jolly good restaurant'.
You'll find plenty of food on the Brassica menu that is honest, uncomplicated and above all else delicious. Brassica always works with local suppliers to find the freshest produce – from rare breed pigs and lamb to Devon Ruby cows – 85% of which comes from within 15 miles of Beaminster.
The restaurant is housed in a lovely 16th-century stone building, but on the inside, Brassica combines chic interiors with homely comfort. There are plenty of colourful accents, funky cushions and eclectic artwork. So if you leave feeling inspired, we recommend paying a visit next door, where you'll find their sister shop Brassica Mercantile. This is a wonderful little store stocked with carefully curated homewares and textiles. Expect to find everything from 70's-style ceramics to the newest cookbooks and homemade condiments.
