Welcome to Batman's Summerhouse. No, not that Batman. This cosy cabin was built in the 1930s for the servant of a military gentleman – known as a Batman – rather than a caped crusader and is now a hidden gem filled with treasured keepsakes and locally made furniture. Sitting right on the riverbank, it blends into the scenic landscape but there is plenty to do on its doorstep.
Inside Batman's Summerhouse, the cabin’s interiors have been inspired by family summerhouses in Scandinavia: fresh white walls and grey paintwork, solid wood floors and airy rooms, a personal collection of mid-century furniture and locally made one-offs.
There’s everything you could possibly need to relax and unwind. Sink into the sofa with a glass of wine or nap outside in the hammock when the sun is out.
