High Street Bruton Somerset BA10 0AE
Former Chapel, Striking Interiors, Onsite Restaurant & Bar
How do you like the sound of staying the night in a fabulously converted Chapel with seriously stylish decor and it's own onsite restaurant and bakery? Yes, such a place really exists. It's called At The Chapel and it lays at the heart of Bruton (one of Somerset's thriving art scenes).
The renovation of this former 12th-century chapel has been a real labour of love for owners Catherine Butler and Ahmed Sidki. Inside, you'll find striking arched windows that bathe the restaurant in soft light. Modern artworks loaned from Hauser & Wirth hang on the walls and a statement bar takes center stage where the altar once stood.
Upstairs, they have eight contemporary and luxurious bedrooms above their restaurant should you wish to sleep in style during your visit to Bruton. No two rooms are exactly the same but each offers a tranquil space to retreat into after a day spent exploring the local area. At The Chapel's aesthetic seamlessly blends the building's historical features with chic contemporary design. All rooms have a king-size bed, Egyptian cotton linen, bathrobes, HD Smart TVs, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Spacious bathrooms feature marble-wrapped baths or shower rooms and are completed with fabulous REN toiletries.
Feeling peckish? Head down to their stunning restaurant to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. ALternatively, fresh croissants can be brought straight up from their onsite bakery each morning and enjoyed with homemade strawberry jam from your mini-fridge.
