Artists House is a lovingly renovated Victorian rental property sitting in the port town of Fowey.

Behind its stately front door you’ll find three en-suite bedrooms (including a charming twin room) and plenty of space for the whole family to spread out. Upstairs, an additional double bedroom benefits from its own bathroom across the hall and the property opens out into a contemporary open-plan living space.

Artists House is decked out in clean white and calming grey tones, colours we usually see on lime-washed Cornish houses with their lichen-flecked slate roofs. As well as a chic colour palette and hardwood floors, it’s the house’s spectacular views of the Fowey harbour that make it stand out. See the river, flurries of trees huddled on the estuary banks and birds flocking over fishing boats all from the living room. On a clear day, you'll also spy famed writer Daphne Du Maurier's house across the water in Bodinnick.

The property is perfectly situated to access not only the estuary, but a range of different coastal and inland walks to explore hidden bays and creeks as much as woodlands. At the top of the secluded garden perch two summer benches overlooking the sea, along with an outdoor table perfect for al fresco dining.

Artists House was reputedly rented by author Arthur Quiller-Couch (who wrote extensively about the town) and it offers private garage parking in the heart of Fowey.

Maverick Tip: If you do walk down to the estuary, they keep two private kayaks at the house that are great for gliding through the turquoise waters.
