For those in isolation, nothing beats the excitement of a bundle of goodies arriving at your door. Luckily, there’s a fantastic range of fresh produce available to order throughout Devon and Cornwall. These are some of our favourite services…
Riverford Organics provide just about everything you could need during lockdown – organic fruit, veg, meat, eggs, bread and milk – all available in handy boxes.
Just outside of Cullompton, Fordmore Farm Shop is offering a call and collect service for pick-up in store or from the car park. Fordmore meat boxes contain an assortment of organically farmed meat, including selections for the ‘Slow Cooker’ and for ‘Steak Lovers’. Teeming with a colourful array of handpicked produce, Veg, Salad and Fruit boxes are also available. If deciding between meat and veg proves difficult, there is also an option to make your own.
Darts Farm in Topsham are offering home delivery nationwide as well as a click-and-collect service (with a pickup station from their car park). You can buy everything online, from home essentials to seasonal vegetable boxes, local meats, salad boxes and delicious ready meals.
Exeter’s Greendale Farmshop offer a local delivery service for customers living in the EX1 to EX15, EX24 postcode areas. Fresh produce from their farm and fishing fleet is packed into vans and delivered direct to your door. Right now, demand is high, so keep an eye out for delivery slots or try their click-and-collect service.
Barnaby’s Brewhouse aims to be completely a sustainable business, brewing organic, vegan beers with renewable energy sources. The delicately flavoured lagers are available in cases of twelve and can be delivered from their Staverton brewery straight to your door. To indulge in a sense of adventure from home, try the Organic Green Tomato Saison. A 6% Belgian farmhouse ale made using Riverford green tomatoes. If situated within a five-mile radius of the brewery delivery is free.
Veg boxes from Bosavern Community Farm boast a mere twelve hours since the majority of its contents were in the ground. Every Friday, the non-for-profit boxes deliver seasonal Bosavern produce with eggs, milk and bread available on request. Veg can also be picked up for free at Café Art in St Ives and The North Inn in Pendeen.
In Cornwall, Etherington Meats are delivering local boxes to those unable to get to their farm shop. Meat boxes are £40 with a selection of their highest quality meats including sausages, steaks and a roasting joint of either beef or gammon. Veg boxes, heavy with root vegetables and fresh greens, are £10 and all are available for delivery within 20 miles of their shop in Scorrier, Redruth.
Based in Crediton, but offering delivery nationwide, The Meat Box Company is a reliable option for those outside the catchment of local deliveries. Their menu of different boxes is reassuringly extensive and ranges from mixed game to BBQ meats, ‘Weekend’ to ‘Easter’ packages and ‘Low Fat’ to ‘Bap’ Boxes. The large selection does not compromise on quality, however, and is a solid option for great cuts of west country meats.

Tamar Valley Food Hub – Delivers local food and drink across the Tamar Valley, orders are taken in weekly cycles so it’s worth planning ahead. Ask for mushrooms to try gourmet produce from Dawlish’s ‘Forest Fungi’.
