Drive Dine Paul Ainsworth

Grab your popcorn - A gourmet drive & dine event is heading to Cornwall

The thought of heading to a crowded cinema and sitting shoulder to shoulder with strangers isn’t exactly top of our priorities right now. But a drive-in theatre is the perfect way to get your socially distanced movie fix. Throw in a Michelin starred chef to do the catering and you may just have yourself the ultimate gourmet cinema experience.

Following the huge success of the Drive & Dine Theatre events held across the UK (in collaboration with Chef Tom Kerridge) Paul Ainsworth and his team are excited to be welcoming the concept to North Cornwall. The Royal Cornwall Showground will play host to a revival of the classic American drive- in cinema screenings. Guests can choose from an impressive selection of award-winning blockbusters, family favourites and must-see classics, all the while enjoying an exclusive menu curated by Ainsworth, from the comfort and safety of their car.

What’s on the Menu?

With his playful culinary style, you just know that Ainsworth is going to be pulling something special out of the bag for these events. This is not your typical American retro drive-in. Instead, you can expect souped up versions of your favourite cinema staples, like nachos served here with an oozy cheddar fondue (made from local  Davidstow cheese) and a jalapeño Salsa. There will also be a ‘Drive-In Dog’ – served in a clotted cream brioche bun with fairground onions, pickles and mustard Mayo- and Ainsworth Fried Chicken – with sticky Korean BBQ sauce, spring onions and a sesame shake pot.
