It’s official: Eating in is about to become the new dining out – at least for the foreseeable future.
While the government has advised us to keep unnecessary travel to a minimum and maintain social distancing, there are still plenty of ways to support local businesses. Here’s how Devon venues are responding to the news…
THE FARMERS ARMS, WOOLSERY
The Farmers Arms will be rolling out a delivery service from their Fish & Chip shop and village store in an effort to support their local community. They are open for take away as well, so if you would like to arrange a pickup call 01237 431238 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
THE RUSTY PIG, OTTERY ST MARY
In a statement online The Rusty Pig says “We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone, but we will be open for business as usual for as long as we can. We are also selling takeaway food, booze, fresh steaks to cook at home, and as usual, our home cured charcuterie. Please support your local businesses through this tough time.”
BORINGDON HALL HOTEL, PLYMOUTH
Boringdon’s doors are still open, their restaurants is still serving food and their spa is still open for relaxation. They’ve just made some tweaks to ensure that everybody’s well-being is at the forefront of each visit.
LYMPSTONE MANOR, EXMOUTH
Michael Caines took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce that until otherwise advised (and they are aware that the situation is changing by the hour), Lympstone Manor will continue to be open and ready to welcome you. He further stated ‘It is essential that we don’t allow this to destroy the fabulous hospitality structure that we have throughout our country’. Visit their Instagram for the latest updates.
THE ANGEL, DARTMOUTH
For the time being The Angel Taste of Devon will be running a reduced menu to keep their quality high throughout this hard time. They have reduced capacity and spread tables further apart. GARA ROCK, SOUTH HAMS
This luxury South Hams hotel remains open. The health and wellbeing of their guests remains their top priority and they are taking extra precautions to keep visitors safe.
